Tara Miele

Tara Miele is a screenwriter/director best known for the viral video Meet a Muslim, which she created in order to combat Islamophobia. The video, which has over 40m views was featured on Refinery 29, E Weekly, Buzz Feed, UpWorthy, and aired on VH1/Logo’s Trailblazers Awards show.

In 2017, Tara was selected for the CBS Diversity Directing Initiative as well as Ryan Murphy’s Half Foundation. She has since directed two episodes of Hawaii Five-0. Tara is currently writing a script with Warner Bros Pictures as well as an independent film tackling gun violence prevention for producer Russell Gray. She is also attached to direct her own script, "Wander Darkly" for Lynette Howell’s 51 Entertainment with Elisabeth Moss attached to star in the summer of 2018.

Tara has directed four feature films, including the psychological thriller, Thinspiration, which tackles eating disorders in a startling new way. Tara also directed the independent psychological drama The Lost Boy starring Academy Award nominee Virginia Madsen. As a writer, Tara has sold projects to Lionsgate, Screen Gems, New Line, Gold Circle Films, and Disney Channel. Tara’s work has been archived at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science’s Margaret Herrick Library and her award-winning films have screened around the world, most notably at Slamdance and SXSW.

A graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara, Tara resides in Los Angeles with her talented husband and two amazing daughters.
