Jackie Apodaca

BRIEF BIO:
Jackie received her BFA in theatre at UC Santa Barbara, with high honors and distinction in the major, and an MFA in acting from the National Theatre Conservatory. She has worked as an actor and director throughout the country with companies such as the Roundabout Theatre Company, The Denver Center Theatre Company, SRT, and The Elephant Theatre Company which recently produced her play, "My Only Hopeless." Along with producing independent films, Jackie spent several years as Head of Production for Modern Media; a Los Angeles based commercial production company. She has also worked in production for companies such as National Geographic, Graphic Films, SK Films, and Tuck and Go Productions. Along with teaching privately and at UCSB, Jackie is the Producing Director of Shakespeare Santa Barbara, a Resident Artist at both the Uprising Theatre Company and Venice Theatre Works, and a Senior Columnist for Back Stage East and West newspapers, as well as backstage.com. Her weekly column, "The Working Actor" is the country's most prominent actors' advice column.
