Born as industrial artifacts, robots, androids, and cyborgs have become representations of our fears, our hopes, and our expectations of the future. This course looks at the historical representation of human-like creations, from robots to cyborgs, and discuss media technology, techno-militarization, trans-humanism and posthumanism in the context of science-fiction cinema, literature, and new media.  Session B
