The department is home to academic publications such as the journals Camera Obscura: Feminism, Culture and Media Studies; Media Fields Journal: Critical Explorations in Media and Space; the annual undergraduate Focus Media Journal; the long-running AFI Film Readers book series edited by Edward Branigan and Charles Wolfe; and the Media Matters book series edited by Patrice Petro and Cristina Venegas. Students also benefit from Carsey-Wolf Center programs and public screenings in the Pollock Theater where they join conversations with visiting artists and media professionals, archivists, and scholars.
