Richard Farrell is a PhD student at the department of Film and Media Studies. In May 2019, he received an MA in Liberal Arts from the University of South Florida. Prior to graduate school, he received a BA in Film and Media Studies from St. Mary’s College of Maryland. He has presented papers at the 2019 National Popular Culture Association conference, the 2018 Society for the Academic Study of Social Imagery conference, and the 2018 Money on the Left conference. His research sits at the intersection of documentary studies, mobility studies, and media ecology.
