Zach McLane

Biography

Zach McLane is an MA/PhD student in the Film and Media Studies Department at UC Santa Barbara. His research interests include: experimental and avant-garde media practices, poetry and poetics, race and its relation to aesthetics and power, participatory art practice, and critical theory.

Zach also maintains a video art practice which explores representation and legibility through digital image compression algorithms. He holds a BA in Narrative Studies from the University of Southern California where he studied narrative form and contemporary visual culture.
