Professor Lisa Parks participates on a keynote panel during Digital Learning Week at UNESCO in Paris
Professor Lisa Parks was invited to participate on a keynote panel during Digital Learning Week at UNESCO in Paris on September 4, 2025. The week of events brought ministers of education, corporate executives, scholars, and tech developers together to discuss “AI and the Future of Education.” Parks’ panel, “Challenging automated inequalities: Co-creating equitable learning futures with AI” aimed to make the visible and invisible dynamics of AI inequalities explicit. Her comments addressed infrastructural aspects of AI, including Big Tech ownership and data center developments worldwide, and connect to research projects Parks is co-leading with support from the UC Humanities Research Institute and the Carsey-Wolf Center at UC Santa Barbara.
