Daniel Reynolds

Biography

Dr. Daniel Reynolds received his Ph.D. in the Department of Film and Media Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara.  His dissertation investigates the functions of media use in the context of the emergent systems that make it possible: platforms and apparatuses both technological and biological.  His work has been published in Fibreculture, Refractory and Applied Semiotics/Sémiotique Appliquée, and he recently co-edited an issue of Media Fields Journal dedicated to the theme of “Scale.”  He has publications forthcoming in The Routledge Encyclopedia of Film Theory, Playing with the Past: Digital Games and the Simulation of History, and Trunk vol. 2: Blood.  Dr. Reynolds is developing a book project on the relationships between media and the embodied mind.
